Polish Biodiesel Output Seen Surging – Planet Ark, Mar 2006

Polish Biodiesel Output seen Surging on Law Change: Biodiesel production in Poland may surge to some 500,000 tonnes by 2010 if the government sticks to plans to introduce new legislation for the industry in June, analysts said on Monday.

Poland: Biodiesel Booming: In 2006 agriculture experts expect 200.000 tonnes of biodiesl to be produced in Poland. That would mean a trebling of the production of rapeseed methyl ester (RME) within one year.

 First bio-diesel plant in Poland:

Biodiesel from Vegetable Oil: Biodiesel refers to a group of esterified vegetable oils (or fatty acids methyl esters, FAME) produced from different oil-containing crops.

Biomass use in Poland: Solid biofuels In Poland combustible biomass consists mainly of wood and straw. Wood chips resources are available almost in all regions of the country.

 Bioenergy in Poland:

Promotion of conversion to biomass CHP in Poland: The set of activities promoting best EU experience with biomass combined heat and power (CHP) CHP technologies to the Polish market has been implemented by EC Baltic Renewable Energy Centre (EC BREC/ RES-OPET Poland) and OPET Sweden and OPET Arctic (Merinova, Finland) in 2000 - 2002 under the OPET Network

Multi-Functional Biomass Systems: Summary And Conclusions: Various multi-functional biomass systems and their potential benefits with regard to GHG emission reduction, energy savings, land use and costs

An investigation of using biodiesel/marine diesel:

Strategy for Balanced use of Biomass in Poland: This strategy is the result of an inventory of the current state of art in Poland and the

Netherlands, and the approaches towards a short and long term sustainable energy supply in both countries.

About Oilgae - Oilgae - Oil & Biodiesel from Algae has a focus on biodiesel production from algae while also discussing alternative energy in general. Algae present an exciting possibility as a feedstock for biodiesel, and when you realise that oil was originally formed from algae - among others - you think "Hey! Why not oil again from algae!"

To facilitate exploration of oil production from algae as well as exploration of other alternative energy avenues, Oilgae provides web links, directory, and related resources for algae-based biofuels / biodiesel along with inputs on new inventions, discoveries & breakthroughs in other alternative energy domains such as solar, wind, nuclear, hydro, geothermal, hydrogen & fuel cells, gravitational, geothemal, human-powered, ocean & wave / tidal energy.
