Biodiesel in Europe
This section contains resources for Biodiesel status and
trends in Europe. Do let us know (narsi at esource dot in) if you have a
resource that fits in this section.
Please see the following sections for Biodiesel news &
updates in the following European regions and countries:
Biofuels
southern Europe - Spain is the biggest bioethanol producer in southern
Europe, with the efforts of Abengoa Bioenergy leading the way.
Grouping Major Biodiesel Producers
and promoting the use of Biodiesel in the EU - The European Biodiesel
Board also known as EBB, is a non-profit organisation established in January
1997. EBB aims to promote the use of biodiesel in the European Union, at the
same time, grouping the major EU biodiesel producers.
Biodiesel Boom
in Europe? - The US had plans to make biodiesel out of soybeans at least
since 1998, when a glowing assessment of its energy balance was provided in a
report sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of
Energy. It claimed that, “Biodiesel yields 3.2 units of fuel product energy
for every unit of fossil energy consumed in its life cycle” and reduces net
emissions of CO2 by 78.45 percent compared to petroleum diesel.
Europe Adopts
Biodiesel - Jatropha is an example of a plant that could be grown even if
it didn't yield biofuel. It is useful for restoring soil, combatting desertification,
and providing fertilizer. It requires minimal inputs of water and grows in
extremely poor soil.
Biodiesel
in Europe 1998 Biodiesel Processing Technologies - Biodiesel is not a
mere question of set-aside-areas in Europe and subsidies or..... Nwzd + dhrs

Biodiesel Producers Look to Europe - American biodiesel producers, who
are trying to keep their heads above water in a market of rising feedstocks,
might have found a way to keep their doors open: send their biodiesel to

Europe promotes biodiesel use - Soy biodiesel is fuel alternative produced from soybean oil. Biodiesel contains no petroleum diesel, but it can be blended with petrolium diesel. Soy biodiesel has many advantages.

About Oilgae - Oilgae - Oil & Biodiesel from Algae
has a focus on biodiesel production from algae while also discussing
alternative energy in general. Algae present an exciting possibility as a
feedstock for biodiesel, and when you realise that oil was originally
formed from algae - among others - you think "Hey! Why not oil
again from algae!"
To facilitate exploration of oil production from algae as well as exploration
of other alternative energy avenues, Oilgae provides web links, directory,
and related resources for algae-based biofuels / biodiesel along with inputs
on new inventions, discoveries & breakthroughs in other alternative
energy domains such as solar, wind, nuclear, hydro, geothermal, hydrogen
& fuel cells, gravitational, geothemal, human-powered, ocean & wave /
tidal energy.
