Lessonia Participates in a Research Project on New Algal Ingredients
Lessonia, a French skin care products manufacturer is participating in EU funded GENIALG (GENetic diversity exploitation for Innovative macro-ALGal biorefinery) project which aims to boost the Blue Technology Economy by increasing production and sustainable exploitation of two seaweeds – brown alga Saccharina latissima and the green algae Ulva spp.
GENALG is a large scale project with funding of 23 million euros for research over 4 years and 19 European partners from academic research and industries.
The project will not only provide Lessonia access to academic research laboratories’ technologies, but also enable to study a multitude of molecules from algae, with potential cosmetic activities.
