Scientists from Hohenstein Institute have found a new biotechnological process to produce algal biopolymer from soil derived bacteria Azotobacter vinelandii. The bacteria has been used as a natural alginate resource. This process could help replace the conventional time consuming process, where biopolymers are obtained from brown algae. Source
