Algae Glycerin to Power Formula E Cars
The world’s first electric Grand Prix series will power its cars from algae glycerin. This attempt promises to promote the zero emission technologies.
The generators will be powered by glycerin, which is a byproduct, in the production of biodiesel by salt water algae. The obtained fuel is nontoxic; and can also be used to power the modified generators. Glycerin produced during biodiesel production, is totally free of carbon dioxide emission, smoke, noise and smell too.
However, authorities suggest the use of the new technology in the future seasons and not in the very beginning ones, as the technology needs further trials in order to be reliable.
