LSU-Ag Center and Aquatic Energy May Get Cleantech Grant
The Lousiana State University Agricultural Centre (LSU-Ag Center) and Aquatic Energy LLC (AE), a US-based biotech company using algae for food and fuel have been recommended for state research funds by the Industrial Ties Research Subprogram (ITRS) component of the Board of Regents Support Fund (BORSF). They have been recommended for the grant for their proposal on a breakthrough algae harvesting technology which they developed with the aim of reducing the algae dewatering costs drastically.
The LSU-Ag center would be given access the R&D facility of Aquatic Energy in Lousiana. This proposal was selected out of the 33 submissions and one among the “Priority One: Highly Meritorious Proposals Recommended for Funding”.
