A New Algae Fuel Venture in Australia
A new algae fuel company by name – Muradel Pty has joined the algae fuel race. This company is a joint venture between Murdoch University, Adelaide Research and SQC Pty.
This company has been started to make algae fuels a reality in Australia taking into the advantage the climatic conditions of Australia. The company plans to produce algae for renewable fuel and co-products from biomass.
Essentially the challenges faced in commercializing algae fuels mainly comprises of engineering and biological challenges, the engineering expertise in the algae processing is brought about by the University of Adelaide. The biological expertise and the mass-culture of microalgae will be brought by the research team of the Murodoch university.
SQC is a South Australian-based technology company dedicated to developing solutions and commercial applications of innovative technologies involving micro algae.
