Food Scientists find Spirulina to Slow Cancer Growth
Scientists from China conducted an experiment to test the effects of polypeptides of Spirulina proteins of five types of cancer.
They used hydrolysis method to isolate the polypeptides in Spirulina and found 15 peptides including a new one which had the ability to slow down the growth of lung cancer cells. These polypeptides exhibited anti proliferation activities on cancer cells and stimulatory activity on normal cells.
