Algae Research Fund Launched in Taiwan
Taiwan International Algae Research Fund (TIARF) has been launched to facilitate the exploration of marine
resources and advanced research in fields related to algae biodiversity. National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) and the Haiken Foundation has jointly established the fund which will spend NT$9 million per year on algae based research.
TIARF will work to promote the development of renewable energy, encourage investments in algae research and will also seek to nurture new generations of algae scientists.
