New Duke-Led Consortium to Focus on Creating Food and Fuel from Algae
Researchers from Duke’s University have received a grant from U.S. Department of Energy to establish a consortium to study the extraction, development and commoditization of various products from algae.
The grant is approximately $5.2 million over a period of three years. The main goal of consortium is to find different ways to reduce the cost of extraction of oil from algae and increasing the value of other products that can be made from algae.
