Algae: From Raceway to Runway/Opportunities for Renewable Energy and Economic Development- A briefing on work being done at the Pecos Algae Research and Development Facility, a pilot scale site on the Texas AgriLife Research Station at Pecos.
WHERE: The Algae Research and Development Facility is eight miles west of Pecos at 947 West I-20. To reach the station from Pecos, take I-20 West to Exit 33, turn left ( south ) onto Farm-to-Market 869 ( under the overpass ), then turn right ( southwest ) on the access road of I-20 and continue one mile to the station on the left. Park inside the gated compound.

WHY: Texas AgriLife Research, a member of the Texas A&M University System, and General Atomics, are involved in a collaborative alliance to research, develop and commercialize biofuel production from algae. Much of the work is being conducted at the Pecos facility. The purpose of this briefing is to show those with an interest in biofuels and this algae project specifically the actual plant facility where most of the field work is being done.
