I don't know the exact yield of ethanol from algae with high starch .. But Greenfuel technologies claim that they can produce 8000 gallons of biodiesel and 5000 gallons of ethanol per acre of algae. Which means after oil extraction algae meal is fermented to produce 5000 gallons of ethanol
Another company Algenol claims that their test facility yields 6,000 gallons of ethanol per acre per year.
one company produces 5000 gallon of ethanol from the leftover another company produces 6000 gallon by processing the entire algae... Looks very confusing......
