Hi Dev,

I read about a study on Mycrocystis Aeruginosa algae in the Hartbeespoort Dam. It is to investigate about the use of algae to manufacture ethanol and bio-plastics.

I have read recently that origin oil is working to convert algae meal to plastics...check out their website..

Well, it is not exactly surprising to see companies trying to get plastics from algae...they have been trying that from many other biomass as well

The question is the cost. Biopolymers and bioplastics today cost at least 100% more than petrol-derived plastics and that is the real catch
