Guru, Mak,
My companies name is Algal Farms Inc. We are working on making synthetic fuels from algae using a novel plasma gasification system that makes us about twice as efficient as Fischer Trohps. Oil extraction has not proved economical for us, even with our patent pending growing and harvesting system. I have proved to be competitive in the solid fuel market though with our systems. Nothing special just grow and harvest it. Gasification seems the way to go with our algae strains, then you can just forgo the problems of bio Diesel gelling and desolving all of you old seals. Gasoline very easy just model the hydrocarbons the way we want. Chemically identical to petroleum just no impurities. Making coal from it also, different story though.

I believe that OriginOil and LS9 are both working to make gasoline? I also think that Synthetic Genomics is too. Synthetic Genomics are building photosynthetic machines which can produce all kinds of stuff. All those companies are up to very interesting stuff. I am sure there are others as well.
