Algae research at Colorado State University will get a boost from the Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels.
C2B2, a partnership of four Colorado institutions, selected two CSU project revolving around algae to receive seed grants on Jan. 1. The principal investigator for CSU's projects is Kenneth Reardon, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Reardon is CSU's site director for C2B2.
In all, C2B2 selected 12 proposals from 45 submitted for the grant funding. The other selected proposals went to projects at the University of Colorado at Boulder, the Colorado School of Mines and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Each project will receive $50,000.
