What Pump To Use With a Continue Circulating Bioreactor??

Postby WVOuser » Sat Feb 13, 2010 7:19 am

What pump is recommended for a circulating bioractor for algae?? I have a centrifuge pump, but I hear it will kill all of the algae that passes through it. I will be growing Nannochloropsis Oculata in saltwater. The bioreactor will look like this, but I need to know if a centrifuge pump will work.

Hi WVOuser!

I cannot answer your question directly but you may be able to find all the information you need at The GreenTrackers database, recently released. Take a look:

http://www.thegreentrackers.com/

If has a lot of information on different algae growth models and biofuel technologies. See what you think!

A positive displacement pump minimized the shear stress on the algae
