Going green with geothermal in Manchester

MANCHESTER — It may be a first for retail buildings. Local businessman Ben Hauben — who recently gained approval to construct a 3,000-square-foot building near Baccarrat on Depot Street — will be installing geothermal technology as a heating and cooling source once the building is complete.

It is the latest in a series of efforts Hauben has had made lately to "go green" and reduce the carbon footprint of the businesses he owns.
