Gasifiers - Solution to excess biomass ? 3

Just for discussion ...
What is everyone's thoughts on using a gasifier to burn the left over biomass from oh let's say a system that is growing year round indoors ?

You would then have heat in the winter (if in a winter zone) that would be sustainable with the excess biomass of the summer months.

Anyone doing this ? Want to do this ?

    4oilgae,
On one of the projects we are working on we will have about 500 tons of de-oiled algae cake to process every DAY. I am sure some of this tonage will be used to produce electricity for plant operations.

Recently I visited one of the facility where the excess bio-waste produced as garbage, kitchen waste of hotels is being used as fuel in the gasfier and it looked very impressive. It burnt around 12 kgs of wood based biomass or briquettes to produce same amount of heat energy as a commercial LPG cyclinder does which is around 19kgs. so it sounded interesting though but lacked proper designing.
