Closed Pond
Closed Pond Systems are defined as those n which the water is recirculated and purified by filter devices. Closed systems utilize biological filtration, supplemented with chemical and mechanical methods. Such systems rely primarily on the filter devices to maintain water quality, with additional water added as needed to replace loss to evaporation
Semi closed systems utilize a means of minimal filtration but are supplemented by constant, regulated addition of fresh water.
Open systems are those in which the water is purified by the constant addition of new water and draining of the old - much like a natural pond fed by a stream
