Is the screw press used to extract oil from algae the usual screw press used for extracting oil from other oilseeds? Should there be any modifications in this screw press to make it suitable to press algae?

I suspect that most don't know the answer, and the very few that do don't want to give away their secrets. I wish you good luck.

I am looking at this sort of technology myself. I have determined that the diameter of the press filter is what needs to be evaluated. You need to press the algae through a filter which has smaller pores than the diameter of your strain. I would say 1/2 the diameter of each cell is a good figure to reach for! Hope this helps.
