    Wonder what is the latest timeline that is suggested by experts for algae fuel commercialization...I recently read that Synthetic Genomics suggest that it could be beyond 2025, perhaps even 2030 when we can realistically expert algal fuel to be in the market

    The US Navy will use only "third generation" biofuels. That means no ethanol made from corn . The Navy is only testing fuels like camelina and algae that do not compete with food, that have a carbon footprint cleaner than fossil fuels and that can be grown cheaper than fossil fuels.
