In my country the source of freshwater (for drinking or agriculture) is very limit so is logic that we seek any way to clean sea water to freshwater. Using of algae cultivation may be a way if we have an algae that uptake salinity from water. I know Dunaliella salina can growth in very saline water (3 M   NaCl) but it doesn’t uptake salt from water. Do you know any algae that uptake and remove salinity from sea water.
