Solazyme gets $52 Million for Algae-Based Fuel 1

Solazyme announced Tuesday that it has landed $52 million in a fourth round of venture capital to commercialize its algae-based fuel.

According to newyork times, Solazyme has raised about $125 million from investors including Braemar Energy Ventures, Bluecrest Capital Finance, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Harris & Harris Group, The Roda Group, and VantagePoint Venture Partners.

The fourth round of funding was backed by Morgan Stanley, Chevron Technology Ventures & VentureBeat.
