Hi Natyher25,
Please tell me which organism you try to grow, is it axenic (contains no bacteria), unialgal (only one strain) or it is a mixture of different algae? Then I can give you suitable advice.

Not bad. Good try. Such enthusiasm should pervade all over. Only then there will be breakthrus soon.
Natyher25,
What strain are you trying to grow? I can suggest you the nutrients if you give me some more details about your project. good luck!
@Natyher25 - What are the problems you are facing? How much light are you giving the algae? Are you relying on natural sunlight or artificial lighitng. are you growing them in open-ponds?
@Shankar- I agree with you, such enthusiasm is certainly needed to achieve something big in this area of research.
After reading all the comments, I am happy there are some people who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise to us who are explorers.
I am going to start my open pond algae growth especially for biodiesel. What strain should I use? I want it to be unialgal pond system. I don't have problem with the sun in Malaysia, therefore my sunlight intensity is high and minimum for 8 hours/day. Carbon dioxide concentration will be around 0.4%. Any suggestions. Please advise
