The National Algae Association, and BARD Holding, Inc. have announced a one-day seminar titled Algae: The New Oil to be held June 17, 2010 at BARD Holding, 1 Ben Fairless Drive, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. The seminar will discuss growing, harvesting and extraction of algae, and is designed for Biodiesel producers and ?algaepreneurs? from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

NAA to Host First East Coast Seminar

The program will center around algae oil as a potential feedstock to help biodiesel producers become self-sustainable. The discussion topics will underscore:

1. The algae industry is quickly moving technologies out of the lab and into commercial-scale algae production.
2. Many new algae production plants are scaling-up to produce algae oil and biomass for co-products.
3. Algae research will continue but proven technologies are being implemented today in the scale-up of the new algae industry.
