To David Giraldo and others - LOW cost photobioreactor 10

I read about Aaron Baum and his workshop and algae kit.

I read about it in Sanfrancisco chronicle.
The url explains Aaron Baum is doing.

Now, I am looking for a methodology to manufacture a low cost modular photobioreactor which will grow algae to become a biomass. It has to be really low cost so that people in India can use it to grow algae and sell it.

Am also interested in manufacturing regular or special photobioreactor for any company in usa or europe at low cost from India.

    Dear Manohar,
How much does a photobioreactor with a certain capacity cost? and what are the components of this photobireactor?

    Dear Abomohra
    Thanks for your comment.
I dont know. But I guess there can be simple and really low cost pbrs and it depends on what it is expected to accomplish. I request some experts in teh field of pbrs to comment.

The cheapest path to take would be for modular open-pond photobioreactors like the ones described here http://www.antenna.ch/en/documents/Jourdan_UK.pdf for the use of spirulina. If you're not worried about lipid content and only care about biomass than this might be the way you want to go.

    Abmohra and Algaegeek

Aaron Baum calls it a kit and gives it to those who attend his workshop for $ 150.
It is obvious that the kit should consist of a fishtank plus aereators etc., That is all.
I am interested in such a kit which gives a guarantee to grow algae. If the cost is low and if one is sure of growing algae without contamination, it is fantastic.
