City - puyallup Country - United States Role - Just interested About - I have been playing around with growing small amounts of algae. I've found the the easiest and cheapist way to harvest the algae is by evaporating the water. The water can be evaporated to a point that leaves the algae in a gooey mass or all the way to dry flakes. In a larger operation the water could be recovered. Growing the algae in open ponds but inside of a green house would facilitate this extraction and recapture method. Algae has been growing for billions of years on its own just fine. Less interference or manipulaton is probably best. I'm still working on the oil extraction part. |

- The first step would be to isolate a good strain or engineering one. Then optimize conditions for enhanced algae production and take it from there.Production of algaefuel is sure a technology for the future.
