Dbrown171's Notes
Last year, I was involved with Aquatic Resource FArming, Inc., in a scheme to grow algae for its oil. We built a 10 square meter concrete raceway for $300.00. Plastic raceways of a similar size sell for $7,000. I designed, built, and patented a bioreactor for a total cost of about $4,000.00. Purchasing one would have cost at least tens of thousands of dollars. We adopted a harvesting strategy based on two cream separators from Ukraine that we got through eBay for $135.00 each.
