A few doubts

Is there any specific formula or equation to calculate biomass productivity(g/L/day) and lipid productivity(g/L/day)? My research is a small scale laboratory based one, so it does not involve area(hectare).

Also, is it possible for the lipid accumulated in microalgae to get converted into energy (the way it happens in animals)? My result has many fluctuations (increase and decrease) in the lipid content of microalgae. Is this possible? How can it be explained?
