 IndianOil Group of companies controls 10 of India's 20 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 62.7 million metric tones per annum (MMTPA). IndianOil and its subsidiary account for 48% (approx.) of the petroleum products market in India, 34% national refining capacity & 71% downstream sector pipelines capacity in India.


It is also the largest downstream petroleum company of India which has made major foray into biofuels.IOC, a premier research centre has current research programmes on 2nd generation biofuels which include lignocellulosic ethanol, algal bio-fuels , bio-hydrogen and has commercialized several processes in industrial biotechnology.

 The centre has state-of-the-art well equipped labs and a team of highly experienced / qualified bio-technologists.

Presently, we need a Chief Research Manager OR Deputy General Manager ? Biotechnology who will implement the research mandate in the area of energy related biological sciences and other related areas. Applications are invited from Indian Nationals desirous of a career in Research & Development.

Profile:? Ph.D in Microbiology OR Ph.D in Molecular Biology OR Ph.D in Bio-Technology OR? Ph.D in Bio-Chemistry OR Ph.D in related areas of Bio-sciences.? Should have secured minimum 60% marks in Graduation as well as in Post-Graduation.? At least Fifteen years research experience in Academia / Industry.? Uptodate knowledge and experience in Energy Biosciences including Biomass processing, techno-economic assessment of bio-process and scale-up technology.? In depth knowledge of Molecular Biology, Enzymology, Genetic Engineering of microorganisms, Downstream processing, Fermentation and pre-treatment particularly of Lignocellulose processing and micro algae.? Outstanding track record reflected in publications and other recognitions.? Should posess demonstrated capabilities of leading group of scientists engaged in comprehensive research and developmental programmes.? Must have strong desire and ability to extend knowledge and research orientation to the team. He / she will be involved in team building and extend his / her expertise for the development of energy bioscience related technologies.? Maximum 55 yrs. of age for consideration as DGM and 50 yrs. of age for consideration as CRM (as on 30.09.2010).? MUST INCLUDE : In Bio-data details of research projects handled , number of patents filed / granted, technologies transferred etc.? Name, address,,e-mail, mobile no., phone no., etc. of two references fully acquainted with your research work.
Selection Methodology : The applicants meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria / experience requirement shall be required to attend Personal Interview.
Pay and Allowances :? Upon selection, the applicant will be placed in the pay scale of ` 51,300 ? 73,000/-. Besides Basic Pay and industrial pattern of DA, the other allowances/benefits include HRA, Medical Facilities, Performance Related Pay, Gratuity, Contributory Provident Fund, Employees? Pension Scheme, Group Pension Accident Insurance, Leave Travel Concession, Contributory Superannuation Benefit Fund Scheme, House Building Advance, Conveyance Advance/Maintenance Reimbursement, Professional Updation Allowance, Home Desk-Top PC, Children?s Education Allowance etc. as per rules.
Concessions/Relaxations :
? Reservation of Ex-servicemen shall be applicable as per Govt. Directives.? Age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PH candidates.? Age relaxation by 5 years for candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1.1.1980 and 31.12.1989.? Exemption from payment of application fee for SC/ST/ PH candidates.

Applicants belonging to OBC category but coming in Creamy Layer will not be entitled to the benefit of reservation and should apply as general category candidate.? Applicants must attach with the application, demand draft, documentary evidence in support of age, qualifications, experience, caste certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC), PH certificate(if applicable.? Minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination prescribed above is relaxed for SC/ST/PH category candidates.? General and OBC applicants are required to send a NON-REFUNDABLE crossed Demand Draft for `300/-(Rupees three hundred only) as application fee drawn on State Bank of India, Faridabad (Code 10449) in favour of INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LTD., R&D CENTRE payable at Faridabad. Outstation applicants called for interview will be reimbursed airfare (economy class) from the airport nearest to the address mentioned in the Application Form to the place of interview / AC First class from the railway station nearest to the address mentioned in the Application Form to the place of interview on production of ticket.?
