Astaxanthin 1

Astazanthin is already being produced from cultured algae in Hawaii and other places. There are also crop plant sources for this pigment. Any propspective algae producer has to understand the market and see how his production can fit in.

    Hi everyone,

I think that one of the most producing algae for astaxanthin is Haematococcus pluvialis. I cultivated it short time ago and the start culture was green and after about 30 days when I leaved the culture in the incubator under light condition I found the colour of culture turned reddish brown. Also the cells appeared reddish brown under microscope. I think this because of Astaxanthin.

I know that it is used as a good source for Astaxanthin but the problem still in its low growth rate.

    Best Regards,
    Abomohra
