Algae aviation fuel to take off in Queensland 1
Tim Mulherin, Queensland's Minister for Primary industries has invited the aviation industry to contribute to the State Government?s vision of a new biofuels industry in Queensland
"With worldwide petroleum reserves declining Queensland is looking at leading the way in developing a cleaner, greener and cheaper airline fuel and other products through the development of the new bio products industry," he said.
"Bio fuel is the future of the aviation industry and that?s why we want feedback from the industry that will use these new fuels."?
?The exciting new sector uses plant biomass, like sugarcane and algae to make fuels, plastics and chemicals traditionally produced from petroleum,? Mr Mulherin said.
Mr Mulherin said bio-based aviation fuel was just one of the products that could be developed in Queensland.
