He became an algae farmer.<\/p>\n<p>Sprouse, 35, grows the emerald slime in a 1-acre pond in eastern Prince George County, Virginia. Sprouse&#8217;s vision might sound wacky at first, but he has the support of some of the state&#8217;s top scientists and political leaders. Now, the 1-acre pond produces just a few ounces of diesel a day.
