The alga was first identified from the samples taken at the junction of two rivers in Japan.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5239 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/algaloil-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Algae biofuel\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/algaloil-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/algaloil-45x45.jpg 45w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Scientists have elucidated the underpinnings of simultaneous growth and oil production by sequencing\u00a0the genomes of <em>Fistulifera solaris <\/em>and also cataloguing a transcriptome, providing a read-out of all genes expressed\u00a0at a given time.
