This technology is announced to receive a United States patent. The underlying concept of the invention is that, under supercritical methanol conditions, the wet algae can be directly converted into crude <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/algae\/oil\/biod\/biod.html\">biodiesel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The funds for the research were provided by the\u00a0U.S. Department of Energy National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Synopsis (NAABB)\u00a0program and The U.S. Department of Defense\u00a0Air Force Research Laboratory.
