See the <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/dir\/dir.html\">complete list of Oilgae Blog articles<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pond scum may have bright future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MOULTRIE \u2014 University of Georgia researchers are aspiring to give pond scum an image makeover.<\/p>\n<p>Along with a shuttle bus running off chicken fat biodiesel and a tractor using soybean biodiesel, UGA researchers at the Sunbelt Expo last week demonstrated that algae isn\u2019t the scum of the earth. It might just prove to a viable source of biofuels, while at the same time provide Georgia a solution for wastewater woes.<\/p>\n<p>UGA has been experimenting with the manufacture of fuel from biomass \u2014 trees, grasses, poultry waste, industrial and agricultural waste. The university has been researching algae\u2019s fuel potential for about a year, said K.C.
