{"id":4512,"date":"2014-02-19T04:16:40","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T04:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/?p=4512"},"modified":"2014-03-13T10:39:04","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T10:39:04","slug":"delegation-split-on-new-farm-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/delegation-split-on-new-farm-bill.html","title":{"rendered":"Delegation split on New Farm Bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>San Diego\u2019s members of the House of Representatives were divided in the end of January 2014 on whether to approve the nation\u2019s new nearly $1 trillion farm bill, one that cuts food stamps by about $8 billion over the next decade.<\/p>\n<p>Members who were against it the bill that establishes the federal government\u2019s farm policies for the next five years provides too many giveaways, resulting in his \u201cno\u201d vote.\u00a0\u201cIn short, today\u2019s farm bill had too many subsidies for wealthy farmers, and not enough help for needy families and children who don\u2019t have enough to eat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h1167792-p10\">However, some of the members feel that the package incorporates a number of provisions he supports, including investments in new sources of energy from such as biofuel and algae as well as energy efficiency programs but still couldn&#8217;t win his backing.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate is expected to take it up by February 2014, where it is expected to pass.
