Now it\u2019s very simple to calculate the algae production. Yes! There\u2019s an app even for calculating the algae oil production.<\/p>\n

The Agricultural and Food Policy Center at Texas A&M has a free \u201cAlgae Production Conversion Calculator\u201d to help with producing algae crops. The app is free via the iTunes app store. There is also a Web-based version that can be used on Android and other devices.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> The app converts between grams per \u00a0liter and grams per square meter. It \u00a0also calculates the annual algae oil \u00a0production possible for a given farm or \u00a0site based on data that includes pond \u00a0volume per acre feet, microalgae oil \u00a0content, growth rate, and pond depth. \u00a0The result is given in both a volumetric \u00a0measure in algae oil gallon per acre-foot \u00a0of water and an aerial measure algae oil \u00a0gallon per surface acre. Texas A&M also \u00a0has a support page for app users.<\/p>\n

The app seems to have had a soft launch \u00a0in December 2010, according to its \u00a0iTunes app statistics. However, the app \u00a0was just endorsed by the nonprofit \u00a0Algal Biomass Organization in its June 1 \u00a0newsletter. The app is also currently featured on Texas A&M\u2019s Agricultural and Food Policy Center homepage.<\/p>\n
