The plant\u2019s location was chosen mainly by Earl McConchie, executive director and creator of the algae system.<\/p>\n<p>The warehouse setting described by the company\u2019s Managing Director Peter Hatfull seems to be overly ordinary, the main component used in the algae system shows the company\u2019s effort to maintain costs and operate using readily available technology. They use a relatively standard 40-foot shipping container, which is available anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>Fabricators and workers will set up the complete algae module in about four months. The Algae.Tec platform is based around a controlled environment within the shipping container that maximizes surface area and sunlight penetration, allowing the algae to grow.
