Sidhu is part of a team at the University of Dayton Research Institute  working on a a two-year, $980,000 Air Force pollution-reduction contract  from the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force  Base. As an oil crop, algae is hundreds of times more viable than corn, soybeans and canola, he said. &#8220;It is a readily available, prolific and inexpensive renewable resource  that can clean our air and wastewater, address our fuel needs and serve  as a food source,&#8221; he said.
