{"id":2524,"date":"2010-10-04T17:10:36","date_gmt":"2010-10-04T17:10:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/?p=2524"},"modified":"2010-10-04T17:12:54","modified_gmt":"2010-10-04T17:12:54","slug":"ford-joins-the-algae-fuel-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/ford-joins-the-algae-fuel-race.html","title":{"rendered":"Ford Joins the Algae Fuel Race"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ford joins the algae fuel race to better understand the use of biomass to produce  future biofuels as part of an overall strategy to reduce the nation&#8217;s  dependence on foreign oil and address climate change. and they see algae as one renewable fuel it needs to study.<\/p>\n<p>They planned to venture into\u00a0 this exciting domain when algae biofuel research received an added boost this spring  through a bill introduced in the House, the Green Jobs Act of 2010, that  offers investment tax credits for algae-based biorefineries.<\/p>\n<p>This  year, Ford researchers visited Wayne State University&#8217;s National  Biofuels Energy Laboratory, which is actively analyzing suitable algae  strains that could be used as a feedstock for biodiesel.
