The southern Indian state of Tamilnadu is planning to set up India’s first special economic zones (SEZ) for manufacturing and testing non-conventional energy equipments.<\/p>\n

The state already has the distinction of being a leader in India for wind energy projects, as well as in renewable energy.<\/p>\n

The SEZ will house industrial R&D units, educational & vocational training centers, besides specific areas for vendors. Universities will be linked in this SEZ project for technical tie-ups.<\/p>\n

With distributive energy set to play a significant role in future, the SEZ is looking at matching local road requirements with locally available energy resources<\/p>\n
