Beckons Industries Ltd (BIL) has commenced operations for taking the development of Algae Photobioreactor Technology further at sunny Goa which is very conducive for the growth of Algae due to minimum variation of temperature near the ocean.<\/p>\n
This initiative will help in faster commercialization of Algae Photobioreactor Technology and revenues from Algae oil, which is a substitute of Crude Oil.<\/p>\n
Goa Climate is more suitable for the Algae cultivation because it has lesser diurnal (day and night) temperature variation from vicinity of ocean when compared to other places. Though diurnal variation in temperature can he controlled within acceptable limits by using expensive heat exchangers, but it will take time to adopt the technology with Photobioreactors.<\/p>\n
The objective of Goa initiative is to undertake Measurement. Monitor and Validation (MMV) of their Algae Technology to facilitate Technology Transfer Licensing arrangements with potential clients that emit Green House Gases such as CO2 from Coal burning. Goa also has a lot of industries each as thermal power Plant, urea manufacturing that could possibly be the fist site for commercial plant in near future.<\/p>\n
