The winners and their projects in each category were:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Personal Spaceflight:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1st Place: Final Frontier Apparel \u2013 The X-Suit, a state-of-the art mechanical counter pressure space suit filled with electro-muscle stimulation to keep the astronaut\u2019s muscles, bones, blood vessels, and nerve cells in top condition.<\/p>\n<p>2nd Place: Gadget \u2013 An aeroponic plant growing system that can be used for agricultural ventures into many types of locations including space station environments, the moon and on Earth.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Lunar Exploration:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>1st Place: ALGAE \u2013 a bioreactor that will bring oxygen producing algae to the surface of the moon.<\/p>\n<p>2nd Place: We Miss Pluto \u2013 a Helium-3 Excavator (HEX) and lunar rover designed to extract helium-3from the lunar regolith, store it, and ready it for transportation back<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conradawards.org\/\">See more<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By the way, have you <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/blog\/feed\/rss.xml\">subscribed to the Oilgae Blog?<\/a>; How about <a href=\"http:\/\/oilgae.com\/mlist\/user\/subscribe.php\">joining the Oilgae mailing list?<\/a>; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oilgae.com\/forum\">our forum to discuss on with others<\/a>?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You are at: Oilgae Blog.
