W2 Energy’s SunFilter 1 to Sequester More Carbon dioxide With Algae
W2 Energy Inc., a clean technology company involved in the development of systems for the generation of energy from waste materials, claims that their product SunFilter 1 has been sinking carbon dioxide at 2-3 times faster since it was filled with the algae Euglena gracilis and by this it will be able to capture more carbon dioxide and generate highly valuable carbon offset credits at less than half the price as before.
SunFilter 1 remediates not just carbon dioxide but also waste. They have been using Biodigestor Liquid Disgestate (BLD) as an additional food source for the algae. BLD is a common food industry byproduct, which contains high amounts of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium which makes it difficult and expensive to dispose of via conventional means. Euglena gracilis algae could easily digest all of these elements.
