An event in Singapore – 3rd Algae World Asia being held on the 19 and 20 Oct, 2010 plans to focus on the business and technological aspects of producing algae for:

Waste-Water Treatment

The conference promises to bring into focus the current & future Development of Algae-Based Bioenergy as well as gain first-hand updates from algae companies such as Aurora Biofuels Pty Ltd, OriginOil, Inc. and so on.
Some of the top research institutes participating include – Genome institute of Singapore which holds a partnership with NREL. Other universities include the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology( QIBEBT who is collaborating with Boeing on algae-based aviation fuels.
